This week we enjoyed talking and exploring all about families!
Our friends loved talking about their families, who is special to them and what they do with their families.
In art we tried water colors and droppers for the first time, using our fingers to grasp the dropper, squeeze the water color into the dropper and then squeeze it onto the coffee filter. Finding out how much water color was too much and creates a hole in the coffee filter or too little and it doesn't spread as much as they'd like it to.
Then, we worked on two step art. They were able to make a house, or some friends made castles, forts and even beach houses. First they needed to glue triangles on and then use paint sticks to decorate. If they used paint sticks first, they realized their art was covered up!
At the touch table we got our baby dolls nice and clean. Using soap, water and sponges, we washed and washed the babies clean. Once they babies were all clean, Wednesday and Thursday we added a sensory material called Pluffle, houses and people.
In dramatic play, we played with the doll house, people and all the furniture. This was definitely a favorite this week.
For math we worked on patterns, using family counters and patterning cards.
In circle we introduced egg shakers. Following along to a song, to go slow, fast, round and round, and stop.
