What a fun week we have had exploring and learning about apples.
To start off our week, in art, we painted with apples. Friends discovered the apples make neat shapes if you stamp it on to the paper and other friends discovered an apple is just like a paint brush, just needs a little more effort to push around the paper.
To end the week we, let the friends choose if they wanted to use tissue paper and glue or water colors to do art. Everyone voted for water colors and requested coffee filters be cut into apple shapes.
In the science center we added something new and our friends did great with it! We added scent bottles. right now, we have apple and pumpkin scents!
We turned our kitchen into an apple stand, with apples, some apple sauce containers, cash registers and requested farm animals to stay.
For math, we worked on our shape recognition and matching skills, using "baskets" and apples shapes that matched.
In the sensory table, we had oats, apples, cinnamon sticks, and pie pans, we had lots of pies made but also cakes, cookies and even some ice cream pies!

We used one apple and one egg shaker to the music.
A favorite this week had to be that magna tiles were added back into the block center.
