For art we used shaving cream and each friend chose what color they wanted their flames to be. Using a fork or hands they moved around the shaving cream paint to make their own safe pretend fire.
In the touch table, we added foam blocks (buildings) colored shaving cream and squirt bottles to put out the "fires".
For dramatic play we added a fire house, fire trucks and people. We also added some gear firefighters might use to dress up with.
In our math center we worked on shape recognition and matching with different fire equipment items in shapes.
In circle we practiced staying low and crawling if there was smoke. We also practiced stop, drop and roll if your clothes were to catch on fire.
In chapel we talked about having superhero faith.
A favorite this week, would have to be able to get outside after all the rain kept us in the gym for a couple days.
