Nursery Rhymes! 10-21-25/24

In art we explored trying to put Humpty Dumpty back together again with band aids!

This week we added kitchen items back to the dramatic play area. Our friends were very excited to be "cooking and making" us food again.

For math this week, we worked on number recognition and matching monster eyes to the number represented.

In the sensory table we added spider webs and spiders, needing to use strong muscles to pull apart the spider webs and help the spiders make new ones.

Working our hand muscles, we worked with play dough, rolling , squishing and making different shapes with cookie cutters.

Thankful we had nice weather to enjoy outside time on the courtyard and playground (with our new mulch)!

A favorite this week was music class with Ms. Gwyn. We loved using bells, egg shakers and paper plates as props along with the songs.

Next week: Halloween!

Pumpkins! 10-14-18/24

Our friends had a wonderful week back from fall break.

They really missed each other, we kept hearing "I missed you, want to go play."

First up for art, we took a still life approach and drew the pumpkin or gourd that was on the table.

Next, we got to paint our own pumpkin using paint sticks. This was definitely a favorite activity this week!

Our Friday friends then traced around the pumpkins to see how that would work.

In dramatic play we added pumpkin houses and people.

In science out sniff bottles were switched out to pumpkin scent.

We also cut open some of our small pumpkins and investigated the inside of them.

To work on fine motor skills we used rubber bands, pumpkins and yours, seeing how many rubber bands could get around each one.

In the sensory table we had pumpkin shaped pasta to scoop and pour into pumpkin shaped containers.

What a wonderful week!
